Spring’s Dress Code

One of our favorite things about spring (aside from the sunshine) is the fact that we get to wear the one thing you can never have too many of: dresses! Nothing says “Spring is here” like a fun, flirty frock. We currently have a wide selection of gorgeous dresses for every occasion, from a casual day about town to your best friend’s wedding. This spring’s collection is chalk full of dresses with swing and flounce, daring cut outs and attention-grabbing color – it’s nearly impossible to choose our favorites! So we thought we’d just show off a few here…and then we suggest stopping by the store to check out the rest!

The Casual Day Dress:

Casual day dresses are one of our favorite things to wear when the rain slows down and the sun reappears from behind those clouds. Whether you’re running to the grocery store or hanging out with friends on a warm afternoon, this style of dress – like the easy-breezy, boho chic number pictured below – is the perfect go-to! They’re comfortable, lightweight to help you stay cool in higher temps and require very little effort – yet you’ll still look chic and put together. Say goodbye to worrying about what top goes with what bottom! These dresses can be thrown on with your favorite pair of sandals or sneakers and you’re all set to get outside and enjoy the sunshine (and look pretty great while doing it!).

The Wedding-Ready Dress

Wedding season is right around the corner – it’s time to be festive with your attire! This season it’s all about COLOR! Rocking bright, bold colors that really pop (think cobalt, coral or fuchsia!) is the perfect way to celebrate in style. These richly-colored floral print dresses featured below are perfect options for a spring or summer wedding. But if a bold pattern isn’t for you, try a solid dress with interesting texture and detail in your favorite color. Step outside of the box in any of these bold hues or prints and your dress may be the one that everyone notices (aside from the bride’s, of course)!

Denim Pieces You’ll Fall in Love With – And They’re Not Jeans!

Denim is one of the most versatile fabrics, so it’s no surprise that we’re seeing it (and denim-like fabrics) pop up everywhere this season! And it goes way beyond your favorite pair of jeans. We’re talking everything from shirts to dresses and skirts. Denim for the day or evening, worn casual or dressed up…you name it! Denim is like your wardrobe BFF – you can always count on it, no matter what the season. If you’d like to step up your denim game this spring, we’ve got the scoop on how to easily incorporate more of this fabulous fabric into your wardrobe!

Our first pick is an oldie but goodie: the jean jacket. Aside from a great pair of jeans, a classic denim jacket is probably the easiest way to wear traditional denim. This must-have item is the perfect transitional piece during spring in the PNW, when the sun is out but the weather can still get a little cool. Plus, they are incredibly easy to style – just throw it over a shift dress or pair with white pants, and you’ve nailed the perfect spring look!

Next up, we’ve got denim fabric in fresh new silhouettes – like this sweet and stylish front zip LDD (little denim dress). The stretch denim is lightweight, soft and extremely flattering, and has been subtly hand-sanded to create the gorgeous blue tone of the denim wash. This is one of those dresses that looks equally great with some casual sneaks or a killer pair of wedges – that’s the beauty of versatile denim! We are also loving these two spring-ready chambray dresses – one a classic shirt dress and the other an oversized tunic style – that are less structured but look just as chic (side note: chambray looks a lot like denim but the main difference is in how they are woven – denim has a diagonal weave, while chambray has a plain weave and tends to feel much lighter).

Our next picks are made with another fabric that looks just like denim but technically isn’t – it’s more of a soft knit in a denim wash. This is a great way to get that denim look but with a more feminine feel – it’s softer, more washed down and super comfortable. This type of fabric can be sewn into any garment and can be mixed with other fabrics or trimmings for a playful spin – like this soft denim knit shirt with lace trim. This type of “denim” also looks flattering as a dress or skirt, like the fitted v-neck denim knit dress and knee-length skirt featured below  (Fun fact: the skirt is reversible, with the reverse side showing more of a washed out denim color).
